Scripture doesn't treat gratitude as a nice add-on. It treats it as the foundation of a life rightly ordered before God. When Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica, he didn't say "be thankful when things go well." He said in everything — every season, every trial, every triumph — give thanks, because this is the will of God.That's not optimism. It's obedience. And it changes everything. Gratitude reframes suffering. It dismantles entitlement. It positions the heart to receive what God is doing rather than demanding what we think He should do. When the psalmist said to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise — that wasn't a suggestion. It was the doorway.That's why we're called Thankful.
